Played to 50,000 people last night in Ecuador. Truly mind
blowing. Every night this tour, the whole city shows up to rock out
with us. Never could have imagined this life when I was a kid! Thanks
so much for the great shows Colombia & Ecuador, off to Rio now !!
Our gear was held for $18,000 ransom by the hotel in Colombia ! We
almost didnt make it outta the country! But we did ! check out the
story below & our arrival in Ecuador in the exclusive video above!
March 28 2010 Bogota Colombia
Something fascinating is going on in rock. Just as rock is
ceasing to exist in cetain formats, ie the CD, rock video, rock radio
& magazines all but disappearing, Rock N' Roll itself is growing
exponentially in other areas; for this band, playing live concerts is
becoming an overwhelming , incredible, mind blowing situation that is
making all of our dreams come true.
I am talking about the tour we are on right now, with Guns N'
Roses in South America. In all my 25 years of touring , this tour ranks
right up there with the biggest & best tours I have ever been a
part of, or seen other bands do . The amount of people we are playing
to each night is simply staggering. No show has had less than 35,000
people in attendance, & we have played to crowds of over 60,000
people a night in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, & Lima as well. The
other shows have averaged around 45,000 tickets sold each night. The
reception of the crowds has been the most insane, loud, passionate
display of love for Rock N' Roll I have been a part of in my whole life.
Ever since I posted about the Sao Paulo show it seems like each
subsequent crowd has been out to prove that they are the most kick-ass
rock crowd on the planet! Porto Alegre was the next show after Sao
Paulo & was off the chain. It was the last show in Brazil &
about 40,000 of you in Porto Alegre let us know we better be coming
back to Brasil real soon! We have already got offers to come back to
South America soon so hey we're on the case! Montevideo Uruguay was
next & after we were greeted at the airport & hotel by hundreds
of fans, we were honoured to play the Biggest Ever Rock Concert in the
history of the country of Uruguay. The promoter told us that Van Halen
played here in the early eighties to around 10,000 people & were
the first ever rock band to play Uruguay. Thanks to them, 30 years later
we get to pack out the stadium for around 50,000 people & the show
was incredible! Had a great time running on the beach in Uruguay &
we can't wait to come back there!
Next up was Santiago Chile & we filmed this show with 5 cameras,
Pro-Shot, for future release. The feeling of energy from the city that
was just pummeled by the biggest earthquake in the history of all time
was palpable. You just can't imagine 40,000 people going more nuts or
jamming into an arena so packed. The show was complete mayhem from the
opening chords of 'Slave To The Grind'. This show will be coming out
someday & I can't wait for the world to see how the country of
Chile kicks total ass & how rock n' roll means so much to a country
ravaged by natural disaster. I said in Spanish on the stage , 'Tonight
the only earthquake in the this town is called ROCK 'N' ROLL' & I
swear the reaction from the crowd registered on the Richter Scale for
sure. Bach in Chile, comin your way to Blu-Ray ASAP ! CHILE ROCKS !!!
We can't wait to get Bach to Chile as soon as possible !!!
Next up was Buenos Aires Argentina, a country where we had played more
than once with the old band, but never to more than 5,000 people a
show. This year, we played to around 60,000 people in Buenos Aires
& when we went on stage it looked like the whole town was in the
stadium. We tore it up with an 1.5 hour full headline set & without
a doubt kicked the ass of Argentina like never before. Went out with
Axl Rose & Guns N' Roses to some clubs after the gig, then ended up
staggering out of Axl's hotel the next day around 12 noon! Good times
had by all! Till the next day that is, ouch!!
On to Lima Peru! Had an insanely georgeous beach run on the
shores of Lima, trailed by security the whole way , no matter how hard
I tried to lose 'em! These guys were good! Felt totally safe &
protected the whole time we were in Peru due to these huge guys in
combat gear surrounding us at all times, it was hard not to! Then we
played the Biggest Rock Concert EVER in the history of the country of
Peru. Around 60,000 + people jammed the stadium & again it was like
playing to the whole city. I've played this size crowd a couple of
times before, but NEVER to this reception. Every word of every song,
every hand in the air, 'Angel Down' songs standing their ground next to
the old classics, it's all good in 2010. The internet is not all bad.
It is quite obvious countries like Peru & Chile are getting into
this music from the internet..... & absolutley hilarious that major
label record companies take bands like mine for granted, while we pack
out stadiums every night!! Their loss for sure! We are going into the
studio in April to start on our next CD, & we have the awesome
knowledge that millions of fans around the world are waiting to crank
the CD as soon as we put it out. This tour from November 'till now has
meant so much to us. Next show is Bogota & we can't wait to play
Columbia for the first time. We were asked to play Venezuela but
unfortunately could not procure Government Visas in time. So we have
had 4 days off in Bogota, which has been interesting! We tried to go
out for dinner at the Hard Rock Bogota, but around 1000 fans were told
we were gonna be there, which made eating dinner impossible! So we went
to an authentic Columbian restaurant that was a great experience. Been
running in Bogota & hope to see some historical sites today &
tomorrow. Then we play the biggest venue in Bogota on Tuesday, see at
Parque Jamie Duque!
We have now been added to the ECUADOR, PANAMA, & rescheduled RIO dE
JANEIRO SHOWS !!! AWESOME!!
Thanks Europe Canada USA & South America for the greatest tour of
our careers, we cannot thank you enough! See ya Tuesday night BOGOTA

You just can't make this stuff up.
All the reports u have heard are true. I dont know where to begin
this update!
After what was certainly one of the best gigs of our career, Sao
Paulo, things got completely crazy, only this time it was none of our
fault! I spent the afternoon of the Rio concert on the beach getting
some sun. I noticed some foreboding clouds forming in the sky around
this time, but thought nothing of it; we've played in the rain before.
Then I had dinner at 5pm & got ready for the show as usual. Abour
7pm I got a call from our tour manager saying "you have a night off
tonight" .
WHAT???
The tornado that hit Rio de Janeiro completely demolished the
stage. On top of that, on the way to Rio from Sao Paulo, our truck
carrying all our equiptment drove off a cliff & rolled down the
hill. Thank God I am able to report that the driver is ok. Not so with
the stage collapse.... many local crew guys were hurt but thank God
there are no fatalities to report. Which might not have been the
case if this tornado hit Rio an hour later; the crowd would have
been in the venue at that time. As evidenced by the pictures , there
most certainly would have been massive carnage had the crowd been in
the venue at the time of the stage collapse. I thank God yet again for
the timing of this incident... we missed it happening while we were
onstage by about only an hour. Obviously we feel totally rotten for the
fans who bought tickets to the show that didn't happen. I have heard we
are trying to reschedule the show & I sure do hope this goes down!
We are dying to play for you Rio de Janeiro!
Which brings us to tonights show in Porto Alegre. When our truck
rolled off the cliff, all the drums were smashed. Bobby's 'Angel Down'
custom bass drum heads do not exist anymore (total bummer). Worse yet,
when the truck was at the bottom of the cliff, locals came out &
raided the scene, stealing whatever they could. All of Johnny
Chromatic's guitars are missing right now. The airlines lost Johnny's
luggage as well on the way to Rio. Johnny is right now on tour in South
America with literally no instruments & no clothes. All he has
right now is the shirt & shorts he is wearing. Lucky for him it's
warm down here! We all feel like total shit for Johnny.
Guns N' Roses have been kind enough to offer us use of any
equiptment we need for the rest of the tour. Which means we can play
the gigs! As I write this at 6pm local time, we have no idea what time
we're going on tonight. GNR's backline is still not on the stage due to
the 19 hour drive from Rio to Porto Alegre. We are shooting for a 9pm
set time but it could be later. It has taken us all everything we got
to pull off tonight's show... the show must go on! See you in a couple
of hours Porto Alegre!
Bobby Jarzombek had the balls to capture all of the Rio madness
on film. 2.15.10
We are so unbeleivably honoured to go to BRAZIL with Guns N'
Roses in March! How great it will be to play in this beautiful country
again where it is HOT out man I can't wait to hit the beach & rock
out stadiums & arenas all across the country! The tour keeps
rolling along thank you so much Axl Rose & Guns N' Roses &
Crew! Next up after tour we will hit the studio & record the next

NEW JERSEY Comes Through; LONG ISLAND Tonight !!!
Well what can I say NEW JERSEY !! I am really blown away
by what happened Saturday Night in Sayreville New Jersey. We played
Worcester the night before & the whole Eastern part of the United
States was bracing for what would turn out to be a record breaking
snowfall. We had to drive from Worcester to New Jersey Saturday morning
for our 10th show in 10 cities in 2 countries in 11 nights (!) &
the snow started hitting us on the NJ Turnpike at around 7am. By the
time we got to near my house the snow had reached half a foot in depth
& driving the bus was treacherous especially with the trailer on
the back hauling all our gear. We actually could not drive to my house
because the roads were impassible. My buddy Ed came to pick me up in
the parking lot of a Barnes & Noble which was the only place we
could find where we could turn the bus around in half a foot of snow
that was still falling at an extremely rapid clip.
I was sure there would be no show that night.
It was now 8am, I was deperate to get to sleep, but I was
positive that Starland would cancel the show. The storm had virtually
shut down the I-95 corridor & travel all along the Eastern US had
come to a standstill. If the show was going to be cancelled, it
wouldn't be me who would cancel. I don't cancel shows. I was sure the
show would be resheduled for another day. When I woke up around 4 pm I
was astonished to learn that the Starland Ballroom still wanted us to
play! For whom I thought? Obviously noone would come out on a night
like this.
Driving to the gig was like driving on the moon. Reminded me of a
gig we did in Treviso (Venice) Italy in December, where Europe shut
down 'cause of snow & driving to that gig was just like this. Not a
human being in site. Hardly any cars on the road, just 4 wheelers, salt
trucks & snowplows. As we drove I prepared for the worst. I know
the Show Must Go On but I just could not imagine the show being well
attended in this storm.
When we pulled into the parking lot, New Jersey you BLEW MY MIND
! The parking lot was overflowing & I couldn't beleive it. With
every newscaster saying 'stay home & dig out tomorrow' it was just
unbelivable to arrive at the Starland Ballroom to a SOLD OUT SHOW. Not
only did we sell out the gig, the promoter told me 400 more people got
tickets to this gig than the last time I played there. The gig was
packed , hot, sweaty, loud, & fun... on a night outside that was
none of those things! I can't thank you enough New Jersey! Sayreville
is the town where Skid Row was born & you all sure let me know that
Saturday night! I'll never forget all your support on such a crazy
night !! Thanks again, from the whole band & crew!
Which brings us to tonight LONG ISLAND !! Unbeleivably, the
forecast is again calling for a crazy-ass snowstorm that is due to
start AFTER our show tonight at Mulcahy's in Long Island ! That's alot
better than what we had to deal with Saturday in NJ. We have already
loaded all our gear into Mulcahy's & BELEIVE ME we are going to
KICK ASS tonight for our last North American show for the forseeable
future! The forecast says the snow will start around 2 am Wednesday
morning, we will be done around 12:30 ! No problem tonight at all. We
will be the ones loading our gear out into the snow after the show
& driving home in the storm! Don't you worry about none of that
Long Island rockers, leave the messy part to us, just come out &
ROCK OUT you will have fun & be home by the time the blizzard hits!
We are gonna kill it tonight in Long Island ! See you in a couple of
hours !
Hey we are sending out ALL merch this week! If you have been
waiting for your merch, don't worry, it is all being sent out this
week. We have been touring like mad dogs & there has been no time
for anything but stage. All merch will be sent out this week & we
have Angel Down Hoodies, All over t's, & glitter shirts that will
be for sale online soon! Gotta destroy Long Island tonight first !!
Thanks to all of you who have been coming to the shows since December!
This has been an incredible 2 months of Rock N' Roll!!

Well, what can I say. What a long, strange trip it's been. As I
type this, I just cannot beleive that I am announcing to all of you
that yes, we will be going on the road with GUNS N' FUCKING ROSES IN MY
HOMETOWN COUNTRY OF CANADA IN JANUARY & FEBRUARY OF 2010 !!!!
Wow.
It felt really, really good to type that sentence.
It's time to sit back & realize, hey, we have been doing
this a long time. From Guns N' Roses taking us on tour in North America
& Europe in 1991 , Australia & New Zealand in 1993, taking us
out again in America, Europe, & Canada in 2006, Axl Rose &
myself recording 'Sorry' for 'Chinese Democracy' & 'Back In The
Saddle', '(Love Is) A Bitchslap', & 'Stuck Inside' for my album
'Angel Down', taking us out again in Australia & New Zealand in
2007....are you noticing a theme here? Loyalty? Friendship? Commitment?
Passion? For Rock N' Roll. For Life. For Fun. For You, the Rock
Fans who make it all possible. For the love of music, having a good
time, & kicking out the motherfucking JAMS.
This tour of Canada means so much to me on so many levels. I grew
up in Canada. It was always my dream to play the big concert stages in
Toronto. To me, playing Air Canada Centre twice in 3 years, 21 years
after my first album came out, is so above & beyond my childhood
dreams, it really is hard to fathom. Hamilton, London, Moncton,
Halifax: I HAVE NEVER PLAYED ANY OF THESE CITIES IN MY LIFE! I have
literally been waiting 21 years to come to these cities & sing '18
& Life' 'I Remember You' 'Youth Gone Wild ' etc. After touring the
world for 25 years , it is astonishing to me that there are still
cities that I have never played. Turns out there's alot! Montreal: I
have been waiting to come back & sing for you since 1992 !! It
blows my mind that I have not played Montreal since 1992. The last show
I played in Montreal was with Pantera opening up the show. I distinctly
remember the crowd in Montreal at the Skid Row / Pantera show in 1992
as being one of the most vociferous / ferocious / intense / loud /
craziest crowds I have ever had the pleasure of rocking out with in my
entire career. When I sometimes think of the greatest crowds I have
ever seen, the greatest , coolest times of my life, the last moment of
leaving the stage in Montreal in 1992 & facing the rockers of
Montreal that night, always comes to mind. So does the Air Canada
Centre show in 2006. The reception Toronto gave my band that night is
something I will never, ever forget. The fact that we get to do it all
again, so soon, is just fucking excellent. Calgary, Winnepeg, Quebec
City: You completely rocked at the 2006 shows. I watched these full
concerts on proshot video (check it out for yourself on the 'ROADRAGE'
DVD) & there is no way Canada could be more into the music than
they were on the 2006 tour. Or can you top it ???? Hey we sure will
have fun trying right !! Ha!!
Of course, none of this would be possible without the vision
& generosity of one single man: Mr. Axl Rose. A man I am so
unbeleivably proud, & fortunate, to call my friend. A man whose
unwavering voice, lyrics, & vision have been the soundtrack to our
lives for more than 20 years now. I cannot WAIT to stand at the side of
the stage every night, waiting for my favorite song 'Street Of Dreams '
to come around in the set. I cannot wait for the camaraderie, fun,
& sense of purpose the Road brings. I cannot wait to scream my
fucking guts out into a microphone in the biggest cities, on the
biggest stages, that my hometown country has to offer. I can't wait to
see all my friends & family at the shows in Canada. One thing's for
sure: I don't have to wait long!! CYA SOON CANADA !! IT'S TIME TO
ROCK!! AGAIN!! I love it.
1:59 PM 10/12/2009
First let me say thank you so much to all the musicians who sent
in demo packages & emailed mp3's & pictures, thanks so much.
It's really hard for me to replace band members after spending years on
the road with the same guys. I don't look forward to it, but I am very
lucky to have so many guitar & bass players who want to jam . I
have every one of your packages & emails saved in case I gotta go
through this again!
After searching for 'my Randy Rhoads' for the last couple of
decades, I am very excited to introduce to you a guitar player whom I
feel has what it takes to take on the world of rock n' roll &
beyond .... Ladies & Gentlemen, please put your hands together for
..... Mr. Nick Sterling ! After flipping through a recent issue of
Guitar World Magazine (good place to find guitar players it turns out!)
I saw an ad for an amplifier that featured Nick Sterling. After I found
Nick's websites, I could not beleive how talented this guy was... he
sings, plays all guitars & basses, & all the drums on his
recordings! Now that's something I know very few people are capable of.
His songs rock, he plays great... I was very interested in making some
music with this dude. I contacted him through his myspace page, &
soon we were emailing song ideas back & forth. Now, a month or 2
after our initial contact, I am proud to say we currently have 2 demo
songs recorded, & are about to start on our third. Nick is younger
than I am. The reason I dig his tunes is that, to me, rock n' roll is
all about the spirit of the Youth Gone Wild, & honestly some
musicians as they get older tend to 'write older'. I am simply far too
in love with rock n' roll, still, to change my 'musical direction'
right now. I just want to keep making albums that have tons of energy ,
are melodic, cool , groovin', & fit into the catalog of what I have
put out so far. Nick's songs & vibe fit perfectly along side such
tracks as 'Youth Gone Wild' '18 & Life' etc.
Now that we have got some songs together, it's time to get back
out on the road! We have been asked to play in Helsinki Finland with
the Legendary ALICE COOPER on December 11 ! I am so very excited to
rock again! I love ALICE & I can't wait to do a show with the man.
We will also be headlining Turku Finland December 12 at Caribia &
Tampere Finland December 13 at Pakkahoune. We are trying to finalize a
gig on Dec. 8 or 9 in Budapest Hungary, there will possibly be more
gigs as well! We will do all the Classic Skid Row tunes you know &
love, along with 'Angel Down' tracks & some brand new ones you have
never heard before! This will be Nick's first ever trip to Europe, so
hey give him a warm welcome, he is gonna need it coming from Arizona to
Finland in December ! Brrrr!!
Joining us on drums & bass are Bobby Jarzombek & Rob
DeLuca. It's great to have players who stick with me, through it all,
in this crazy business. Such dedicated & professional players as
Bobby & Rob are hard to come by & I consider myself fortunate
to share stages around the world with these cats, going on 5
years now. On 2nd guitar will be either Johnny Chromatic or Charlie
Bellmore. I have a bunch of new music with Charlie Bellmore that I am
dying for you all to hear, but Johnny has done the set hundreds of
times so it might be better to have just one new guitar player live
instead of 2. But Johnny is very busy with his band down in Florida, so
I am still undecided on who take to Finland on 2nd guitar. Both Johnny
& Charlie shred like cheese graters, so don't worry our band will
kick your ass Finland! Get ready!
As soon as we get back from Europe it's full speed ahead on the
new CD ! We have at least 12 songs ready to record & we are not
stopping the writing process. We plan on starting to record the next
record as soon as we can. Also look out for the 1st ever Sebastian Bach
Blu-Ray coming your way soon (also to be released on DVD)! Details
ASAP! Watch this space! http://www.youtube.com/NickSterlingRocks
