Reading a really cool book right now : 'GIMME AN R!' by
Brian Vollmer. It is the autobiography of the lead singer of Helix
& the man sure can paint the picture! Starting out in a Canadian
bar band myself, I played many of the places Brian Vollmer describes in
his book & it is really cool Brian Vollmer has written down the
details of things I was too loaded to remember!! Helix is one of my
earliest favorite bands & the video for 'ROCK YOU' kicks fucking
ass to this day. CLICK

TRUNK FRAMESHIFT 2 SPECIAL: PODCAST PART 2 ONLINE NOW!!
Sebastian Bach Podcast on
iTunes ! A 'Bachcast' if you will ! I carry my Ipod with me wherever I
go so I figured why not
utilize the technology! The mind boggles at what I could put on your
Ipod - full concerts / unreleased songs/ demos / interviews / videos /
lyrics / tourdates etc. Basically I can put whatever I want on a
BACHCAST
& that suits me just fine!
The first Bachcast is the Eddie Trunk Friday Night Rocks Q104 FM
Radio 'Frameshift 2 Special' that was done in New York City on October
28 2005. As far as I know this was the only Frameshift promotion
done in New York City & Q104 is the biggest radio station in
the country, so it is awesome I can share this interview with the whole
world via iTunes .... for FREE!

NOW PLAYING @ MYSPACE.COM/SEBASTIANBLOG:
The coolest thing
about Myspace is that I get to play DJ &
choose the songs I want you to hear. The fact that I can make it
play only, & not be available for download, enables me to, in
effect , turn the myspace page into an internet radio station & let
you hear some truly obscure stuff. Just you wait & see!
Playing right now @ www.myspace.com/sebastianblog is:
1. "Believer" with Dimebag Darrell on guitar from Randy
Rhoads Tribute
album (Japan)
2. "Blade Part 1" from Frameshift 2: An Absence Of Empathy
3." I'll Never Turn My Back On Rock'N'Roll" from BRING 'EM

MONSTER
BALLADS: THE PLATINUM EDITION
DEBUTS AT #18 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 200 ALBUM CHART!
I'm
sure many of you have seen the TV commercial out now that starts with
the "I Remember You" video. The commercial is for a new compilation
album called "Monster Ballads: The Platinum Edition" that has sold
44,000 copies in it's first week! The compilation debuts @ #18 on the
Billboard Top 200 album chart next week. I am blown away.

Hey freaks ! Due to Bachular
demand, I have set up a Sebastian Bach Myspace page. I tried to use
"Sebastian Bach" for the url but some band from Turkey took that.
So then I tried "Official Sebastian Bach" but some scumbag took that
one too ! So for now the url is myspace.com/sebastianblog until I get
the identity stealers off Myspace. The reason I finally made a
Myspace page is to shut down the MANY imposters on this site ! I still
don't really understand all this , but for now sebastianblog is the
OFFICIAL Sebastian Bach Myspace place, no matter what anyone else tells
you. I will always update sebastianbach.com first, but once I get the
hang of Myspace I will get into it if I dig it. Thanks.

This truly is a momentous day in Bachstory! I have a new

Management will now be taking over the business side of things. 2006 is
going to be a very busy year & to have Scott helping out with
managing the new record & tour will certainly make the job of
making music alot easier for me!

ON NEW
RUSH DVD:
R30
I make a very short but very cool appearance
on the brand new Rush DVD: R30! What an honour it is to be included on
a retrospective of the career of one of my favorite bands of all
time. Trivia note: the DVD was produced by my old friend
Rich Chycki, who was my guitar player in the mid 1980's in Toronto. We
recorded many songs together, including "Saved By Love Again" which is
the song I sent to Skid Row which made them hire me. After I left the
band (which was first called 'Hope' then it was called 'Sebastian')
Rich hired a cool singer from Northern Ontario named Kevin. I remember
Rich introducing me to Kevin at one of my soundchecks at Rock'N'Roll
Heaven in Toronto circa mid - '80's. Kevin joined the band with Rich
& they changed the name from 'Sebastian' to 'Winter Rose'. They
re-recorded 'Saved By Love Again' & the other songs I did with Rich
& eventually released the material in Japan. Kevin changed his name
to James LaBrie & joined Dream Theater! The rest is prog-rock
history! Congrats Rich on producing R30, great job!

is that a beautiful classic Flying V Wolf is wielding! Attention KISS
fans: those are 3 out of 4 original Ace Frehley artwork pieces on the
wall behind us that I own which were presented to me by none other than
the Ace man himself. They are actually numbered & autographed 1-4
out of 5000 so they are definately an important part of my KISS

1975 I got off Ebay for way too much money! Had to have it!

ON NEW VH1 SPECIAL ; PRESS CONFERENCE WITH ROB HALFORD & RONNIE
JAMES DIO
I
had the incredible experience of doing the Television Critic's
Association of America's annual Press Conference with Rob Halford
& Ronnie James Dio. Click
here for MediaWeek Article. We were there to announce the
brand new
VH1 Special "Heavy: The Story Of Metal" & what an honour it was to
be on the panel with 2 of my all time heroes! While in the green room,
I looked across the room & said to Rob Halford, " Hey man that
looks like Loni Anderson & Rob replied, "That's because it is Loni
Anderson, Sebastian". WKRP In Cincinatti is one of my all time favorite
shows & I have collected memorabilia on the show for years &
have alot of the series on VHS, & would love to find it on DVD! To
see "Jennifer Marlowe" in person was a mind-blower for me, especially
while sitting at a table having coffee with Dio & Halford! I was
too star-struck to go up to Loni & could not beleive it when she
came over to our table. She introduced herself to us, told us she
dug our hair (!), & was totally cool! She also told us about her
new show with Tori Spelling (who was also in the room, thier new show
is also on VH1) . I asked her about WKRP coming out on DVD & she
said the big holdup was music clearance, there was a ton of music in
the show & that is what is delaying the DVD release. Bummer!
Hopefully it will come out someday! I also asked her about a potential
WKRP reunion , & she mentioned Gordon Jump's passing (the "The Big Guy"
Arthur Carlson)
& she said "We couldn't do it without 'The Big Guy', you know"
which I thought was an incredibly cool thing to say. When I asked Loni
for a picture, Ronnie James Dio said "Here Sebastian I'll take it"
& this picture of Loni Anderson & myself is taken by none other
than Ronnie James Dio! How's that for a pop culture explosion! Only in
the VH1 Green Room muthatruckas! Thanks VH1 for an awesome day!

Just
got back from Hollywood CA where we filmed yet
another episode of the WB'S #1 show, The Gilmore Girls! On the set was
none other than the legendary Carole King! She wrote the Gilmore Girls
theme song as well as Locomotion, Another Pleasant Valley Sunday, One
Fine Day, You've Got A Friend, So Far Away, It's Too Late, and many
many other songs than define her as one of the greatest songwriters in
the history of music. We had a great time hanging out & even
pulled out the acoustic guitar & jammed on Neil Young's 'Helpless'
on the Warner Brothers lot. "One Fine Day" indeed!

I am happy to say that on the whole I am very
pleased with the Frameshift 2 'An Absence Of Empathy' CD mixes. I am
especially proud of the song 'Blade'. Henning did a great job on the
final mix of this song. I would have to say that, at the moment,
'Blade' is my favorite song I have ever recorded in my 20 year career.
It went over great with the crowd when we did it live in Italy & NJ
this summer, & we will definitely keep the song in the set for the
4 shows in November! I also think that the CD mixes of
'Miseducation' & 'What Kind Of Animal' are incredible. I would not
change a thing about these final mixes. Click
here to buy the CD.
Unfortunately, I cannot say I am %100 happy with every
final mix on the CD. I of course did not hear the CD before it was put
in the stores, & if Henning would have honoured his word, we would
have ended up with a CD that we were both
completely proud of. Who knows, maybe someday we can get together again
& make this happen. I am certainly not holding my breath for that.
I thought you all might be interested to hear some of the
rough mixes of the songs from 'An Absence Of Empathy'. These were
recorded directly after the vocals were recorded. I never leave a
studio without a record of my work that particular day & I am sure
glad I don't. I truly believe that the rough mixes of these songs have
something to offer that the CD versions ultimately do not.

The Button

I
Killed You
Music: Pauly
Lyrics/Melody: Bach/Cash/Evers/Pauly ASCAP
I posted this song for 2 reasons specifically. Number one, I hate
'auto-tune'. The trend in producing vocals these days is very different
to the approach when I was recording the albums 'Skid Row' & 'Slave
To The Grind'. Now it is very common practice to take a lead vocal
track & put it through a computer to make it sound absolutlely
perfect. To remove each & every breath. To alter notes if you so
desire in the final mix. This rough version is actually what I sang, what came out of a real live
human being's mouth, & heart, & soul, & mind. Those of you
who have the CD can have fun trying to spot the words that were left as
I actually sang them, on the final mix, & the ones that were
digitally altered, with 14,000 pounds of GOOP needlessly piled on top.
For me as the vocalist who sang this, & helped co-write the melody
& words of the song, it is very easy to tell!
Number 2, this rough mix contains my absolute favorite Henning
Pauly guitar work I have ever heard. The guitar tone & playing by
Henning on this rough mix of 'I Killed You' are to me far superior to
the CD final mix. Henning's lead guitar tone & playing in this
rough mix have brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion. I
was very surprised when I finally listened to the CD, that Henning went
in & replaced all his lead guitar work on this track. This is some
of the tastiest & most heartfelt guitar playing I have heard in
years.
This Is Gonna Hurt

Pauly Lyrics/Melody: Bach/Cash/Evers/Pauly ASCAP
My vocal is a little too loud in the verses of this mix, but I
posted it for one simple reason. The rough mix makes me cry. The mix on
the CD does not.
So if you don't have 'An Absence Of Empathy' yet, I hope the
rough mixes above will get you interested in checking out the actual
CD. If you already have it, hearing these roughs might give you a
perspective on the music that you don't get from the final CD. Bottom
line is, dump these mp3's into your Ipod & rock out!!! Enjoy!!!
